A premier find for the collector of Victorian nautical curiosities: this exceptional 11-inch tall silver-plated cruet set features a highly rare figurative Octopus (Kraken) handle. Unlike common floral or geometric Victorian designs, this "novelty" piece captures the spirit of the 1880s Aesthetic Movement, using the natural, sprawling form of a sea creature to create a functional work of art.
The expertly cast octopus head forms the central stem, with its textured tentacles reaching out to form the structural "shoulders" of the bottle gallery. The feet are also decorated as miniature sea creatures.

Replacement bottles, also light flea bites possible, though I haven't noted any major issues with glass. The bottles are antique and, despite the careful wrapping, there may be issues in transit - in this particular set, please just replace the bottle with any other suitable as the value lies within the stand rather than the included bottles.
Patina: The silver plating on the octopus handle shows light wear on the high points (eyes and tentacle ridges), which beautifully highlights the casting detail and confirms its authentic age.
Structural Integrity: The stand is sturdy, the handle is secure, and there are no breaks to the decorative tentacles.
