Birks was a high quality silversmiths often referred to as the Tiffany’s of Canada. Established By Henry Birks and sons in 1879, the company enjoyed a long tenure as Canada's top silver producer.

The quality and design of the Birks flatware competed against the top manufacturers worldwide.

These pieces are marked BIRKS STERLING to underside. They are not lightweight - over 230 grams. Technically they are not marked as "weighted", although this is what they are - such sterling candlesticks were usually made with a weighty non-metal core inside, such as plaster, to make them more stable and durable.

The condition is close to mint - these pieces were used - but lovingly cared for and looked after.
