A matched pair of exceptionally well made and weighty Empire Revival candlesticks, crafted in solid bronze or brass, featuring ribbed classical columns with elegant stepped bases and banded capitals.
Green-patinated sealed outside surface with natural verdigris oxidation inside base. Unsigned but finely engineered in three screw-fit parts — likely by Jacques Adnet, circa 1930-1940.
Height approx. 29 cm base diameter 11 cm, top diameter 6 cm. Weight about 1060 / 1090 g.
Superb architectural presence. Elegant and modern in style yet with a traditional neoclassical undertone. Adnet embraced modern materials with a minimalism, yet retained the principles of classic style and superb craftsmanship.
