A complete mid-19th-century French 1845-1865 opaline glass 4 piece toilette set, comprising an oval tray, a pair of perfume bottles with original matching stoppers, and a covered rouge pot. The set is executed in opaque blue opaline glass and finely decorated with hand-applied fire-gilt grapevine, leaf and tendril motifs, with gilt star decoration to the tray interior.

The tray interior with scattered gilt étoiles is a strong Second Empire Parisian feature. Gilt clusters with rounded berries and thick leaf veining match known Palais-Royal toilette sets. Bottle proportions: short shoulders, domed stoppers confirm pre-1870 era. Rouge pot construction and lid fit are consistent with luxury dressing table ware.

The form, decoration and quality are characteristic of Parisian luxury glass produced during the Second Empire period, closely associated with Palais-Royal and Baccarat circle manufacture. Such complete matched sets are increasingly scarce.
