Elegant and rare, this antique Aesthetic Movement Japonisme Condiments Cruet Stand features a faux bamboo metal frame with a curved handle wrapped in a wicker-style wire. The stand holds four cut crystal condiment bottles, creating an attractive and unusual piece for a dining table, vintage kitchen display or collector of Victorian tableware.
The stand is notably heavy and well made, weighing approximately 1.83 kg. The naturalistic bamboo form and wicker-style handle reflect the Victorian fascination with organic materials and Anglo-Japanese inspired design.
Dimensions:
Height: approx. 7 inches (18 cm)
Footprint: approx. 5 x 5½ inches
Condition:
Original antique condition. The metal frame has extensive areas of plating loss, as clearly shown in the photographs, together with surface wear consistent with age and use. The resulting gunmetal-grey tone gives the stand a more understated, aged appearance rather than a bright silver finish, adding to its antique character and sense of distinction.
The glass bottles (one of darker tone of crystal) have minor nicks/chips, including wear to the edge of one stopper. One hoof foot is slightly bent inside more than the others but the balance of the set is very good and stable. No repairs, no later soldering or other fixes. Untouched and unrestored clean antique condition.
For US Customers:
The price you see already includes the new US TARIFF and handling fee. I will be covering these costs on your behalf, as Etsy does not process these recently imposed duties. Without this arrangement, your item would otherwise be held at US Customs.
