Stylish vintage Norwegian cake server tongs with 830 purity solid silver handles by Thorvald Marthinsen.
The server is marked on the handles with 830S for silver content. There is also a makers mark for Norwegian silversmith Thorvald Marthinsen.
Pattern Name: Märtha, designed by Lars Meum in 1929 for the Thorvald Marthinsen silver factory in Tønsberg, Norway. The most distinctive feature of the Märtha pattern is the stylized lily or fleur-de-lis motif pierced into the flat, scoop-like "blades" of the tong.
Lovely condition with little signs of wear other than a bit of silver plate loss on the inside of the server.
