A rare early Victorian biscuit barrel by John Harrison & Sons (Sheffield, England), dating from 1860 to 1866 (when this stamp ceased to be used). Biscuit barrels only came into fashion around 1860, making this one of the earliest examples produced.

This beautiful piece is crafted in a vase-shaped form with a flared base, combining a richly hand-painted ceramic body with silver-plated rim, hinged lid, and swing handle. The decoration features fruit and floral motifs in gold, green, red, and purple, highlighted with delicate gilding.

Originally designed to hold biscuits or sweets, this elegant barrel now serves as a rare collector’s item, perfect for display with a Victorian tea service or in an antique kitchen collection.
