This collection of two never used boxed sets: one of Six Steak Knives and one of Six Forks - features genuine Stag handles, scalloped knife blades and premium hand-finished back-work as a testament to Sheffield craftsmanship, English tradition, and true luxury.
The blades are made with "Scalloped" Spine: they have decorative filed notches on the back of the blade.
The Markings are: "GREGORY BROS. CUTLERS SHEFFIELD, ENG." dating the set to the late 1950s.
The Stag handles are British Red Deer stag. The light to mid brown "bark" and deep ridges are in excellent "New Old Stock" condition, showing no signs of the cracking or yellowing. The forks, although unused, do have tiny signs of agin in boxed storage on the lower metal parts shown in the photos.
Handcrafted with incredible attention to detail, each of the Steak Knives were made from high-quality mirror-polished Stainless Steel.
The length of the knives is 22 cm. The length of the forks is 18 cm. The size of each case is 4 cm high, 18 cm wide and 24 cm across.
The handles are made from genuine Red Deer Stag Antler Horn, polished by hand to mirror level. The Stag Horn is ethically sourced from the British countryside, with antlers naturally shedding each year from Red Deer. These antlers are carefully collected across the Scottish Highlands, ensuring that each piece is unique in colour, texture, and character.
Both sets arrive each in a beautifully crafted presentation case, marked on the underside Case Made in England. Each case is lined in red velvet inside with the added peach silk on the inside part of the lid.
Never used condition with only above mentioned little marks on the forks and some faint age related darkening on the silk. Original foil tags "Guaranteed Genuine Stag / Handmade by Craftsmen in Sheffield England" are still present in both cases. Original tissue paper wrapping around each knife and fork.
