Authentic Vintage English Signed Humphrey Wakefield Isle of Scilly Small Glazed Forest Green Vase

Renowned English ceramic artist Humfrey Wakefield went to Oxford to study classical history and philosophy, including archaeology and Greek pottery. He was fascinated by the way the Greeks made their pots and vases so he set up his pottery in his father's house on the Isles of Scilly and constructed his own potter's wheel from the old fashioned lathes for turning wood in 1955 and never used a modern electric one.

This vase is clearly marked on the underside HW made by hand in the Scilly Isle. It has beautiful glazing and dark rich green tone with faint speckles. It is about 15 cm or 6 inches high and about 3 inches in diameter at the widest point.
