For sale is a beautiful, authentic late 19th-century (circa 1890–1900) Baccarat Crystal Cruet Set in the iconic "Bambous Tors" (Twisted Bamboo) pattern.
This set is fully complete and features:The original molded crystal stand with a central spiral handle.
The raised "BACCARAT DÉPOSÉ" registration mark molded directly into the glass base. Both original, matching crystal stoppers.The "Bambous Tors" pattern is celebrated for its heavy, high-quality French crystal and elegant swirling ridges that catch the light beautifully. Designed to hold oil and vinegar, this piece makes a stunning addition to any collection or an elegant statement on a dining table.
Condition:
Good antique condition overall. The glass is clear, and both pouring spouts and are free from chips. The original stoppers have age related chipping at the bottom. There is a flat, blunt flake on the very top of the base, which does not affect its stability or display. No other chips, cracks, or cloudiness, there are one or two bubble and a manufacturing irregularity in the bottles walls typical of hand made crystal of the era. BACCARAT DÉPOSÉ mark on the base confirms this is an authentic, early production piece, not a later reproduction or a generic competitor. This specific mark allows us to date your set much more precisely to the late 19th century (circa 1890–1900). The word "Déposé" is short for Modèle Déposé (Registered Design), which Baccarat used during this period to protect their popular "Bambous Tors" twist design from being copied by rivals like St. Louis. This relief molded mark (raised glass letters rather than an acid stamp) was typical of the 1890s. After 1936, Baccarat switched to the faint acid-etched circle logo.he mark indicates the piece was pressed-molded. This technique allowed for the crisp, consistent "twisted bamboo" ridges that define the pattern.
Dimensions
Approx 22 cm high, 9.5 cm wide and about 20 cm across. Very heavy, at about 1.5 kilos total weight.
