Rare and striking interwar serving tray, featuring a bold abstract geometric design, inspired by Russian Constructivism and early Modernism. The design is reverse-painted beneath glass, creating strong contrast and depth, set within a riveted metal frame with original wooden base.
The colour combination is white, black and silver. The graphic composition of black circles and angular diagonal forms reflects the crossover between Suprematist aesthetics and Art Deco applied arts, popular in Europe during the late 1920s and early 1930s. Pieces of this type were produced by specialist workshops and are typically unmarked.
