Superb Late Victorian Art Nouveau style Silver Plate Toast Rack with a Handle for six slices, divided by an arched style frame supporting a central handle. The rack is elegant and substantial. It has a boat shaped body resting on a tray base with pierced sides and the central divider has a shaped handle attached to the top.
Signed for George Travis Sheffield 1890s.
Very good quality. The dimensions are: about 9 inches long, 5 1/2 inches tall including the handle and 3 1/2 inches wide.
Nice condition with some age appropriate scratches, it has a loss of plating on the base from cleaning - the base metal has a gold/brassy hue, and other signs of age, i.e scratches, etc.
