This is a 20th Century fruit bowl in the style of 1900 Orivit Jardinière. It is estimated to be created from some sort of gilt resin or light plaster resembling wood with a moulded glass insert. The centre of the base depicts a sleeping maiden's head, decorated with floral headwear, with her serene face painted white against the gold background. The handles show whiplash curve, characteristic of the Jugendstil Art Nouveau style.
Dimensions approximately 36.5 cm or 14 inches long by 18 cm or 7 inches wide.
Excellent condition - some very minor wear. The glass is thick and intact, it is molded with decorative lines.
The piece displays beautifully.
Very decorative and easy to integrate into any interior.
