Elegant pair of antique silver-plated knife rests by the renowned Sheffield silversmiths, Walker & Hall.
Crafted in the classic "Jack" or "Ball-end" design, these rests are a beautiful example of Victorian or early Edwardian tableware. They were designed to protect expensive linens from being soiled by used cutlery during formal dining.
This set is particularly desirable as it remains in its original silk-lined presentation box, featuring the iconic Walker & Hall flag logo.
Key Features:
Maker: Walker & Hall, Sheffield, England
Material: High-quality silver plate
Design: Traditional cross-shaped "Jack" style with rounded ball ends.
Presentation: Housed in the original black fitted case with a champagne-colored silk and velvet lining.

Excellent antique condition. The silver plating is thick and lustrous with no "bleeding" of the base metal. There is a light, authentic patina in the crevices of the ball ends, left uncleaned to highlight the detail. The box is sturdy and functional, showing only minor age-related wear.
Dimensions: about 9 cm by 3 cm, the box is about 10 cm by 4 cm.
