English silverplate boat created by the famous Sheffield silversmiths William Hutton and Son, signed with their mark dated to between 1864 and 1900.
This antique serving piece rests on four ridded ball feet, it has a lift off hinged lid, beautifully decorated handle and a blue glass insert. Great for serving jam and jelly, marmalade or mustard.
Approximate Measurements: 7 inch x 3 inch x 3 inch. Approximate Weight: just over 200.
The pot is for sale with a bread or toast plate by Hukin and Heath, and was likely to be designed by Sir Christopher Dresser.
Condition: bright and clean, the only issue to report is loss of plating on one side of the pot exposing golden-hue base metal. The rest is clean and bright, and look hardly used. No chips or cracks on the blue liner.
Dimensions:
The pot is about 4 1/4 inches or 11 cm wide including the handle, it is about 3 1/4 or 7 cm tall. The bread plate is about 8 1/4 inches or 21 cm long and about 3 inches or 8 cm wide.
I include a little antique serving spoon for your convenience.
