Antique Pair of Bohemia Export Amethyst Purple Glass Vases, London Hallmarked to David Loebl, Schindler, Sterling Silver Collars 1920s

This exquisite pair of 8″ vintage vases feature a luxurious amethyst-purple glass body, hand‑blown in the renowned Bohemia Art Glass tradition. Mold-blown with ridge patterns on all four corners, the vase graduates from crystal clear to deep purple at the base—showcasing expert craftsmanship and elegant design.  The purple tone in the vases is slightly different, most likely from aging in the sun, as it is common with amethyst glass.

Silver Collar

Topped with a sterling silver collar, the vase bears British hallmarks from London, dated 1926, including the “DL” maker’s mark. These initials identify David Loebl, who collaborated with Schindler and Co. to import Bohemia glass and furnish them with hallmark-worthy silver mounts—making this vase a rare cross-cultural treasure.

Origin & Provenance

Glass: Hand-made in Jablonec nad Nisou, the historic center of Bohemian-Silesian glassmaking, by one of the region’s export houses affiliated with Schindler & Co. 

Silver: Hallmarked in London (1920s) by silversmith David Loebl.

Design: Ridge-cut pattern.

Condition: Excellent antique finish with light wear consistent with age; collar securely fitted, hallmark fully legible.  One Collars is slightly creased.  The amethyst purple colour has different tone - one bottle is of colder hue than the other.
