Authentic 19th-century Swiss "Halbatti" panel bracelet from the Canton of Nidwalden.
A rare example of regional alpine Trachtenschmuck (traditional folk costume jewellery).
Features four openwork silver filigree panels with central rosettes and teardrop wire scrolls. The panels have a historic, mellow gilded/gold-wash finish.
Four vertical spacer bars set with deep red, hand-cut pyrope garnets serve as the structural hinge connections, sewn to the silver panels by hand with a thread.
Unmarked, as is traditional for custom regional pieces from this era.
Condition: Excellent antique condition. Filigree is intact with no crushed wires. Original gilding shows authentic age-appropriate mellowing and fading. Garnet hinges are structurally sound. Garnets are all slightly different when looked through the magnifying glass as they are natural and hand cut by local people.
