A spectacular and exceptionally rare pair of vintage Karl Lagerfeld couture earrings, designed in the late 1980s for one of Lagerfeld’s exclusive runway collections. These oversized clip-on dangle earrings are a bold fusion of baroque opulence and industrial modernism, true to Lagerfeld’s signature aesthetic during his Chanel era.
Each earring features a silver-tone domed button top, engraved with the iconic KL monogram in black italic script. The button is connected to a large spring ring, from which hangs a striking teardrop faux baroque pearl capped with an industrial ridged setting — a masterful contrast of elegance and edge.
The drop measures approx. 3¼ inches (8.25 cm), making them a true statement piece. The design allows the pearl drop to be detached from the spring ring, offering the option to replace it with another pendant — a rare and clever couture detail.
These earrings are in very good vintage condition, with light patina on the back of the button and some silver oxidation at the junction with the pearl — consistent with age and adding authentic character.
Signed KL, these earrings are a highly collectible Lagerfeld runway piece, and a bracelet from the same collection is available separately — creating a rare opportunity to own a matched set from a key moment in couture history.
