The lid centers an octagonal parquetry emblem with a mother-of-pearl inlay panel.  \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe lid opens to reveal to hand made dark emerald-green quilted textile lining, the walls are painted dark green. Please note that although the original mother of pearl key hole surround is missing, nevertheless the box retains its original working lock and key. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eCondition: Honest age and wear consistent with a box of late Victorian period. Losses of veneer on edges\/corners. The exterior finish shows patina and some crazing. Some shrinkage gaps and small edge losses to the inlay. Hinges and lock functional.
